“I’ve sure enjoyed the rain, but I’m lookin forward to the sun…”
(except for the enjoying the rain part, I’d say that’s pretty accurate!)
Until I am here.
Drinking sweet tea.
Eating fried okra.
And getting to see them.
And watching this one get married.
And kissing my little brother like this.
And hugging the rest of my family like I haven’t seen them in months.
I am so blessed to have these people to come “home” to. I sure do love them.

Vacation. Was. Awesome.
9 days in a row of not having to commute to Washington or shower everyday or deal with other people’s financial problems. My sister’s visit was wonderful. We packed a LOT of things into the 2 full days she was here. We ate lots of good food, went to the Oregon Zoo, went to Multnomah Falls, walked around a couple different unique neighborhoods in Portland, and caught up on all the details of our crazy lives. I can’t wait to meet my little niece or nephew in August, that’s for sure.
Even though work has been a bit of a nightmare since I’ve gone back, I’m happy to have some routine again. I guess if I wasn’t stressed out from a hectic day at the credit union, I would probably be at home bored, right? I’ll keep telling myself that at least.
On a more positive note, I have some new loves in my life that I would like to share.
1. Desperate Housewives. I know, I know…I thought the same thing. But I tell the truth when I say it’s actually a great show.
2. Velvet Elvis. I’m hopping on the Rob Bell train just when everyone else is getting off! Hah!
3. Our new oven. Our cute little 50’s style stove/oven bit the dust this week so our landlord had a pretty new stainless steel one delivered Wednesday. It’s amazing to have 4 working burners and an oven that cooks food evenly. So thankful!
It’s so exciting that in about 2 weeks I’ll be back in the ATL for a few days. I can’t wait to see TWO of my favorite people get married while I’m in town. It will be one crazy week. I’ve been craving some chickfila, steak n shake, mexican food, waffle house, and many others that cease to exist in this part of the world. Obesity here I come!
