Okay, so considering there have been some big changes in the lives of Josh and myself recently, I’ve decided that the time has come for me to share them publicly!
Firstly, and most excitingly, I am now an official employee of a local bank called Columbia Credit Union. My first day is this coming Tuesday, January 19th, and I am pretty stoked about this opportunity. I could potentially keep my job at Olive Garden for the time being, but I’m not sure what will happen. I worked at a bank back in Athens, GA for a year, and it was such a perfect way to get plugged into the community and meet people there. That’s definitely what I am most looking forward to 🙂 Oh, and also having a normal people sleep schedule! YEAH!
Some other news that I hesitate to share publicly (for fear of failure) is that the husband and I decided to train for the Race for the Roses Half Marathon in April…yikes. A few of our friends started training for it recently, and I guess the decision was partly us being tired of being out of shape, and part peer pressure. The worst part about it has been the freezing cold air burning my lungs with every run, and I am now WAY too excited for this blasted Winter to be over. I don’t think I have seen the sun in 3 weeks!
I can’t wait for the city to be SUNNY again!
And did anyone know that The Simpsons town of Springfield is based on Portland, Oregon? And that the names of a bunch of the characters on the show are from street names downtown? Crazy, huh?
Well thanks for stopping by, and if you could keep praying for Portland, we’d appreciate it! God’s up to something huge here, and Josh and I are just beginning to get our feet wet in all He has for us in this amazing place!
